“Bosworth, you are my everything. You’re so loving, affectionate and sweet. You’ve given me unconditional love. Thank you for never leaving my side and allowing me a once in a lifetime kind of love.” ~ Amy, Bosworth’s Mom

Yorktown Portrait Photographer | In Honor of Bosworth

Every dog has a story.

Every dog’s face tells the story of their life. The good and the bad. The strength, the resilience, the love.

Often times, the most overlooked member of a family is a pet. Those who have animal companions know they are more than just a dog, a cat, a horse, or a pet. They are a member of our family. An intricate piece of the fabric that is woven together with the other members of the family to make it the elaborate, beautiful creation it has become.

Since moving to Yorktown, I have had the privilege of meeting many such family members. And in honor of them, I would like to launch my Senior Dog Portrait series.

Senior Dog Portrait Series

One of the main reasons I started this series was to provide families with a beautiful portrait of their beloved senior dog before they pass away. Our time here is limited and we are not guaranteed tomorrow, no matter how healthy we are. It is a privilege to have those last moments with a loved one. A privilege a lot of people are denied for one reason or another. So to be able to capture a beautiful portrait of an animal companion, with the ones who have been lucky enough to have them in their lives, is an honor.

Today, I honor Bosworth.

This past weekend, Bosworth, while surrounded by his loving family, in the comfort of his home, passed over the Rainbow Bridge. I have no doubt he was surrounded by love. A lot of tears were shed, but I also know he will be waiting for them on the other side. There are no words to describe the loss of a family member. Their first born. Their oldest child. He was the one who shared everything with them, the good times and bad. The one who comforted. Loved unconditionally. And the one who taught them patience, resilience and compassion.

Bosworth. 15 1/2 years old. Big brother. Eldest son. Companion. Best friend.
