When asked to photograph a 6 month old and his family, little did I know how much I was going to fall in love with said 6 month old…well, his family too, but come on, how could you not fall in love with this little man? Henry was such an observant baby. When I spoke with his mum and dad during their discovery calls, both of them said he is fascinated with nature,…all things outside capture his attention. And they truly did. He held tiny flowers so delicately as he examined them. He ran his hands over the twigs, back and forth as he felt the roughness of the bark. He held the blades of grass between his fingers with such care and precision. It was like I was seeing these things for the first time through his eyes and it was amazing.
With the beautiful Ko’olaus as our backdrop, this family truly enjoyed one of their last photo shoots in Hawaii, before separating from the military and moving to Texas to start the next chapter of their lives. Seriously, the mountains on Oahu, whether it be the Ko’olaus or the Waianae Ranges, are simply majestic. It just goes to show, you don’t always need to be at the beach for a photoshoot, to enjoy the beauty Hawaii has to offer.
I am so thankful this family was referred to me from another photographer. They have fast become good friends and I look forward to delivering the incredible artwork they design to hang on their walls in Texas…can I just add how awesome it was that Sarah and Scott bought artwork for a home they don’t even live in yet! I know they will love these luxury pieces for a very long time!
