Oahu Couples Photographer | Navy Military Homecoming

As I’ve shared before, a Navy military homecoming is one of my favorites. I cry every single time. But I promise, if you ask any military spouse, nothing beats the homecoming of their deployed loved one. It’s pretty much all the best days wrapped into one big happy, emotional, incredible day. They are over in the blink of an eye, just like tearing off the wrapping paper early on a Christmas morning. The days and weeks of anticipation leading up to the first glimpse of your loved one exhaust you while you wait. Then on the day of the actual homecoming, it seems like time stands still as you wait, and wait. Wait to see the familiar face you have missed for so many long months. And then, just like that, it’s as though they never left.

Hannah and Elliot’s homecoming was no different. Well, maybe a little seeing as Elliot had been deployed for approximately 98% of their married life! Even though Hannah and Elliot have known each other since middle school and went to band camp together, they married just a few days prior to Elliot’s deployment. And as the saying goes, absence definitely makes the heart grow fonder. Although Hannah remained composed, deep down she was a nervous wreck watching and waiting for her husband on that pier.

Now that Elliot is home and they are finally back together, they can enjoy another honeymoon, a little longer than the first one this time! Congratulations to the “newly weds”! I hope your time together now is as incredible as you have been anticipating for all these long months apart.

Welcome home, Elliot.
