I’ve been on Spring Break with my children this past week. I have loved every day of it. Usually we don’t get to enjoy Spring break together. My eldest daughter, in high school, and my younger children, are never off at the same time. Next year, I will have a children in 3 different schools, on 3 different schedules. It is exhausting just thinking about it.

But for now, we got to enjoy days at the beach, movie premiers, and lots and lots of cupcakes!

Earlier this week, Eve and I discovered a bakery in downtown Honolulu. “Let them eat cupcakes“. Amazing! They specialize in unique, yet delicious cupcakes, like Lilikoi, Salted Caramel, Tiramisu etc. The first cupcake I tried was mint. It was sooooo good, that literally after my first bite I went and bought 10 more….I closed down the store! (I had a photography P31 meet up and birthday to celebrate…I didn’t eat all 10 by myself!)

Mint and Double Chocolate cupcakes.....with coffee, of course! Love the cups!

One thing you need to know, as soon as their cupcakes are sold out, they close the doors. So, I recommend you call ahead of time and have them put the cupcakes aside for you. (They will graciously do this for you!) This is the only way to guarantee you’ll get what you want. (Although I promise, you will not be disappointed if you have to grab another flavor.)

So, after sitting and enjoying our coffee and cupcakes, we headed home. I enjoyed a wonderful evening celebrating Kim’s birthday with all of our friends at our photography meeting and headed home.

The next morning, Let Them Eat Cupcakes posted their new flavors of the day (as they do everyday, on Facebook) and commented about one of The Hunger Game ticket giveaway winners. I had completely forgotten to check and see if I had the winning token on one of my boxes. I called Alyssa and had her rummage through her trash cans, to check the boxes for me. (Yes, that’s how much she loves me!) I was so excited when she called me later to tell me I had won. 2 tickets to opening night of The Hunger Games, as well as $20 in theatre snacks! My girls were thrilled….as was I.

Darn, now we had to go pick up our tickets…and you know we couldn’t NOT try some more cupcakes! This time we got 4 different kinds…to share, of course.

Maple Bacon, Salted Caramel, Vanilla and Nutella. Each one AMAZING!

Last night my girls and I, along with Alyssa and her daughters, headed to the movies to enjoy our winning tickets. What started out with lunch and cupcakes on Tuesday, turned into an amazing week of delicious cupcakes and date night with my daughters. Thank you, Let Them Eat Cupcakes. You helped make our Spring Break even better than we had planned.

Cheers.
