Towards the end of last year, something started nagging at me from within. I knew it had to do with the fact that we were delving so deep in our Vivid & Brave group, but at the start, I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I loved my work. I enjoyed what I did. I loved the women I worked with and the whole process of working with them. So why did I have an unsettling feeling? Something was missing. But what?

Over the next few weeks, I started to talk things through with a few close friends and the women in our V&B group. Intimacy may as well be my middle name. I crave intimacy in all of my relationships. Surface relationships drive me crazy. Shallow friendships aren’t worth having. And don’t even get me started on fake, processed foods!

What my soul craves more than anything else, is to encourage women to enjoy the intimate relationships with their children.

…The intimate connection between a mother and each of her children, showcasing the uniqueness of each child.

…As new life grows inside of her and she enters into motherhood for the first time….or seventh.

…The first time a mother lays eyes on their beautiful newborn child.

…The tender moments of those first few weeks of age as both mother and baby are navigating a new world together.

…The pivotal moments of childhood, when we often ask ourselves, why! Will we ever sleep again? Will I ever get to wear clothes without stains on them? Will I ever get to eat something other than macaroni and cheese? Those years when our children live in their bedrooms, behind closed doors and pretend they don’t know us! Aka, the teen years.

As mothers, the connections we have with our children are like none other. Not our husbands or partners. Not even our best friends. I want to allow women to embrace the grace-filled side of motherhood. The not always glamorous, but forever amazing, messy, beautiful side of motherhood. Capturing those moments of intimacy between them and the ones they love so intensely.

My new website reflects these changes in my direction. What seemed like forever, is now ready to launch. Head on over to Debbie Leanne and take a look around. And remember….Life is too short for fake butter, cheese or people! Be real. Be raw. Be intimate.
